4 Easy Self Love Rituals To Start Today

Do you agree with the idea that the more you love yourself, the more love will be available for you to share with others?

It’s often true that we don’t fill ourselves up with enough self love, compliments and celebration, which leads to having less to give in our intimate relationships. The effects of having a lack of self love range from low energy to minimal confidence, both of which are closely related to our work / life experiences.

You can start to think of it this way: The more self love you gift yourself, the more enjoyable life becomes.

Here are four self love rituals to help you take the first step towards loving yourself more today than yesterday.

Ritual #1: Find something you’re grateful for related to your inner and outer self. Example: I’m grateful for my creative spirit. I’m grateful for my soft skin. I’m grateful for my courage to be myself. I’m grateful for the sparkle in my eyes. Notice, appreciate and cherish these things about yourself. It’s what makes you beautiFULLY you. 

Ritual #2: Say yes to your sensuality. Take a bath, light some candles, cuddle in your favorite blanket – whatever feels delicious and relaxing, do it! Minimal thinking or activity, just experience yourself being. Notice how wonderful it feels to just BE. Notice how easily you can relax in this space and in that piece of peace. Remember that it’s always there and available to you … it just takes you slowing down to savor in the joy. 

Ritual #3: Meditate – even if only for 3 minutes. Find a meditation you love and allow your mind and body to rest. I personally love the Oprah & Deepak meditation challenge videos, they are so easy to listen to and get me relaxed in under a minute. Brilliant! Your mind, body, spirit, relationships and more will be grateful for your choosing to slow down and find time for mindfulness, as it trickles out into all areas of your life. 

Ritual #4: Touch yourself with love. When you’re in the shower or getting dressed, choose to touch your body with love, tenderness and care. Caress your skin, massage your feet, whatever it is, move with grace and ease. Notice how wonderful it feels to be present with your own body, giving it the attention it craves and quite frankly deserves. 

Take these rituals one step at a time. Don’t feel like you have to do them all at once. It’s better to start slow then to not start at all. Self love is a gift you give yourself. The ripple effect is beautiful, as your overflowing love and joy will begin to water the relationships in your life, as well as your health, finances and overall happiness. Enjoy your newfound awareness of how amazing it feels to nourish yourself and fill your cup, so it overflows in the most lovely ways.
