7 Intentions To Set For A Fulfilling And Passionate Life

Do you agree that we create our reality through our thoughts, intentions and actions? It’s no secret that our thoughts and intentions are very powerful and the more you intend for what you want to create, the more of that exists in your life (AKA: The Process of Manifestation / The Law of Attraction).

To turn your dreams and desires into your reality, you must start by setting powerful intentions for yourself. You want to experience even more fulfillment, passion and joy, don’t you? Of course you do! These 7 intentions are a MUST for creating just that…

#1 – Travel To 3 Places You’ve Never Been 

Think of three places you would love to explore this year. Perhaps a hike through a National Forest or a star gazing tour in the desert. Dream for a moment about a place you would really love to experience. It doesn’t have to be a far away place that requires an expensive plane ride, although feel free to set the intention for anywhere your heart desires. You’re already starting to feel the inspiration and excitement rising, aren’t you?! Set a powerful intention to travel to these three places this year with grace and ease of course. 

#2 – Learn Something New 

One of the best things you can do to create success in your life – personally and professionally – is to be a continuous learner. Learning new things and growing your expertise is an amazing way to connect with new people, expand your comfort zone and find new things that bring you joy. When you set the intention to learn something new, you’re setting yourself up for success and continuing to become an even more knowledgeable and well rounded person. Imagine how amazing it will feel to learn something you have always been curious about like making homemade pasta or learning how to salsa like a pro. Whatever it is, it’s perfect. Intend to learn something new and exciting and you will. 

#3 – Create A Mindfulness Practice

You have the power to make this year full of inner peace and relaxation. Creating a mindfulness practice is an incredible way to relax your body, decrease stress and tune into your breath. Setting the intention to practice mindfulness (which is similar to meditation) on a daily basis, even just for five minutes, will create ripples of peace and centeredness throughout your life. 

There’s a great meditation app. that you can download for free called Calm, which is a simple guided meditation and mindfulness experience that allows you to determine the duration, sound preferences, desired outcomes (like calming anxiety, deep sleep and more). Set this intention to be mindful and meditate each day and you’ll experience even more clarity and peace of mind. 

#4 – Do Something You Love Each Day

Choose to make 2016 a year of doing more of what you love. Your time and energy are precious, so how can you do more that brings you joy and fulfillment in the new year? By focusing on things that you love – like dancing, hiking, writing, etc. – you cultivate an energy of fun and enjoyment into your life. This energy flows into everything that you do, including your relationships, your business and even your finances. The more you live in joy, the more amazing your life will be. 

Set the intention to do something you love each day. With this intent you’ll notice yourself starting to do more of what you enjoy and less of what doesn’t feel good. Creating this creative flow will flood your life with positive energy, levity and fulfillment. 

#5 – Give Daily Gratitude

Having a daily gratitude practice is essential to living a life you love. Not only because it allows you to cherish and notice all the beautiful blessings in your life, but it also focuses your attention on the positive things you love about your life. The more you give thanks and appreciation for the amazing things in your life, the more amazing things you will attract. Plus, giving gratitude feels so so good. By setting the intention to give daily gratitude, you send out an energy of thankfulness into your life, which will inevitably slingshot more of that back to you. 

#6 – Commit To Unconditional Happiness 

Imagine how incredible it would feel to be unconditionally happy in spite of any external circumstances. Think for a moment about how much peace and relaxation you would feel to truly be unattached and able to go with the flow in any moment. This is a beautiful and profound concept I discovered while reading Michael Singers The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself – which I highly recommend. Here’s an excerpt from the book that sums the concept up perfectly: 

“If you decide that you’re going to be happy from now on for the rest of your life, you will not only be happy, you will become enlightened. Unconditional happiness is the highest technique there is. You don’t have to learn Sanskrit or read any scriptures. You don’t have to renounce the world. You just have to really mean it when you say that you choose to be happy. And you have to mean it regardless of what happens. This is truly a spiritual path, and it is as direct and sure a path to Awakening as could possibly exist.”

What if you could be unconditionally happy in 2016 and feel joy, bliss and freedom in any given moment. It wouldn’t matter if you were sitting in traffic or if you spilled your coffee on your favorite pants… you could always choose to feel gratitude and joy for the moment. Putting this practice into action just takes one step – setting a powerful intention. Take a moment to close your eyes, place your hand on your heart and repeat to yourself something like I choose to being unconditionally happy. From my experience, this is a practice that takes practice. It doesn’t happen overnight, so don’t become frustrated when you catch yourself having a moment. Just notice it and return to your commitment. You can do it! 

#7 – Spend Even More Time Loving Yourself And Others 

The more time you spend loving yourself and others, the more love is going to flow into your life. A powerful intention to set for the new year is to be even more loving to yourself and those around you. This intention almost instantly changes the game in your relationships.

You’ll notice a few really amazing things start to happen as a result of setting this beautiful intention: (1) You will have more energy and appreciation to give to others. The more you can fill your cup and pour love onto yourself, the more easily you’ll be able to do that with others. (2) Your loved ones will feel the shift and your relationships going deeper and becoming even more intimate. (3) You may notice yourself smiling more and feeling a sense of lightness. That’s because that is the energy you are focused on sharing. 

Find which intentions resonate with you and then put them into practice! You are planting powerful and meaningful seeds that will bloom on a daily basis, even when least expected. Enjoy the benefits of setting intentions and carving out time to do more of what you love, moment to moment.
