Do you consider yourself to be an adventurous person?
If your answer is yes get excited because these 3 additions to your weekly routine will give your spirit an extra boost of exploration and adventure!
If you answered no don’t stress, even if you don’t consider yourself to be adventurous, these 3 things are simple and easy to add to your schedule, so you can get outside of your comfort zone, grow and try something new. Because lets face it – it’s always the perfect time to breakthrough your comfort zone and get a bit uncomfortable. Have you ever heard the teaching that all growth and learning is on the outside of your comfort zone? I definitely believe this to be true and know you’re going to love dipping your toes into the adventure pool 😉
#1 – Take 20 minutes to drive somewhere you’ve never been. It could be out to a mountain nearby that you’ve always heard about and never hiked, a beach or anywhere that calls out. Where you go doesn’t have to be far away or even out of the box – you just want it to be somewhere that you haven’t yet enjoyed. Once you arrive, just notice how it feels to have taken time to go there and have a moment of new discovery and adventure. It may seem like a small action and it is which is one of the reasons why you can do more of it during your weekly routine. If it feels good to be somewhere new – even just for 20 minutes – plan to it again next week. You’ll start to notice how much beauty is all around you, waiting for you to arrive and enjoy.
#2 – Plan an evening or afternoon date with a friend, partner or loved one to go try something new in your community. Maybe it’s a dancing class or cooking class. Perhaps it’s a yoga paddle boarding lesson. Whatever comes to mind is perfect! Take a few hours to go and play and do something that gives you butterflies. You may notice yourself getting excited even just thinking about planning this. Not only will this allow you to tap into your adventurous, explorer side, but you’ll also connect on a deeper level with the person you invite, as trying something new together is a fabulous way to deepen intimacy. This can be something you add to your weekly or monthly routine. See how it feels to play and get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Only amazing things can come out of planning an experience like this.
#3 – Take time offline! Take a few hours or even a full day to get off your technology. Leave your phone and computer at home and go take a long walk. Be present to your senses. Notice all the beauty that surrounds you in your life. Doesn’t it feel wonderful to take time out in nature – just you – appreciating and admiring the people and life itself. Allow this time to be a sanctuary for you to be with yourself, on an adventure within. Remember – adventures don’t have to be something bold and daring. It can be just taking time with yourself to ground and get quiet. I have a feeling you’ll love what comes out of having this time for yourself to feel, relax and just BE.

Put one or all of these things into practice and see how the adventure starts pouring into your life. It doesn’t have to be a big shift to be meaningful. Notice how wonderful it feels to try new things, go new places and open yourself up to the possibilities. Enjoy!
